I had a friend who asked me if the theater in Taxi Driver that had Texas Chainsaw Massacre on the marquee was real or if it was just a nod from the filmmakers who wanted to call out a movie they liked. I had the joy of explaining it was probably genuine because of how this film was distributed and circulated in grindhouse theaters for years before reaching its full notoriety. I don't know i love both of those movies and i always loved that you could see it on the marquee in the back and it was fun to talk about it with a friend who didn't know the film history.

Love to make a film then thousand years to have a person point out. Flaws in it but never mind😂

for nostalgia reasons people love watching this but take away nostalgia its just plain boring movie, please post movies that have a good story, thanks

My great grandfather spent the entire war in France. Royal Cameron Highlanders... All is says in a journal we have is the rime and date in 1914 -1918 France . But we do know that he was shot ,and gassed .And survived to go on from France ,to India, Burma ,and the Andaman Islands...He then retired after a full term...He had apparently lied about his age in 14 ....so he must have been a good soldier to have achieved the rank of sergeant major by the time he left service...His medals were stolen in a house burglary way back in time... He saw service during WW2 as a frontline Fire service man and spent the entire war on active firefighting duty ...( in north east London and Essex). When he passed , he still had the copper Bullet in him from WW1... I would have loved to have met him...He was always in my nans heart and never tired of talking about her POP!!...She herself was taken with The entire regiment, as a toddler with her family toio across the globe to the before mentioned places...On the way she actually broke her leg and she spent her entire life with a crooked leg ... She folkowed his lead in WW2 and served at Bletchley Park..She was never allowed to talk about what she was doing ...So ive often imagined that She and her dad actually never did speak.. I do not know exactly shen he passed ,but his wife (nanny elephants to me) never remarried ...she was 86 when she passed ,and i got given a set of ebony elephants from india or Burma...I still have them today and thise elephants are now 100 yrs old...i am 53 ... Those men who were in the frontlines must have gone through a Hell that nobody could describe without being there ... Films like this one are a pretty good portrait of it all. But still a million miles away ... All I've said is true and His and the familys records are still logged in the service records at Inverness Barracks in Scotland. My nan was actually born there in 1920 ...

Needing a job,I once loaded newspapers by the bale in Denver. From the dock to the huge trailer we went in an oval nonstop by hand. While it was still dark. That was between gigs as a musician,singer. I looked at it like I did in boot camp Navy. Exercise!😅

The campfire scene where they discover and create music is one of my all time favorite scenes in any movie. You could seriously imagine it happening that way. I’m a child of the 70’s teen of the 80’s and I was fortunate enough to see this in theaters when it came out. An underrated classic.

Good movie some folks may still be illiterate. It's 2024. I'm from Eastern Kentucky.. although a lot of things are changing some people are still like this movie in the hollows of Eastern Kentucky. It's sad but but true

First time I ever saw this excellent Christmas musical! The ending with little Johnny Whitaker petting the white dove brought tears to my eyes! I was 16 when this was on television back in 1969. I am assuming this was a television production! Oh well, better late than never! I give it 4 stars! Bravo!!

I didn't know Fred Gwynne had such a wonderful singing voice! I like this! Saw Johnny Whitaker in a movie released in 2014 called The Talking Cat! You could hardly recognize him some 45 years later!
